Just one block south of Venice Ave., Miami Ave. is a destination for antique shops, restaurants, and more. I found this nice Christmas display in a shopping arcade there. Merry Christmas, just one more day to go!

Many people who come to Florida for theme parks, big cities, and beaches miss great treasures such as the city of Venice.
This beautiful and friendly smaller Florida community is about an hour south of the Tampa bay area. Venice is Florida's only west coast city that is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico. It has many miles of beautiful beaches yet without the crowds of the big cities and resorts.
The Venice area is an ideal place for living close to major cities while enjoying a far more relaxed pace of life. It's a community with a great sense of place and Italianate charm due to the foresight of city planners in the 1920's and efforts by leaders today to preserve and enhance that history.
